Gold Recovers as Investors Rebalance Risk Ahead of a Data-Heavy Week
Share:

Gold recovered some ground on Monday after a difficult October, as investors prepared for U.S. elections, corporate earnings and the October employment report. Reuters reported that bullion was up about 0.9% during the session after a steep decline in the previous month.

Gold can respond to changes in real interest rates, currency movements, geopolitical risk and demand for portfolio protection. When bond yields rise, the opportunity cost of holding a non-yielding asset can increase; when uncertainty rises or the dollar weakens, gold may receive support. These relationships are not automatic and can shift as investors rebalance positions.

The week's calendar includes major technology earnings and policy events that could move both Treasury yields and the dollar. Developments in the Middle East may also affect safe-haven demand and energy prices.

A one-day rebound does not establish a new trend. Investors will be watching inflation expectations, central-bank guidance and fund flows to understand whether gold's recent volatility is easing or continuing.
