ExxonMobil Posts $17.5 Billion in Adjusted Third-Quarter Earnings
Share:

ExxonMobil reported third-quarter 2026 earnings of $15.4 billion, or $3.72 per share, while adjusted earnings reached $17.5 billion, or $4.23 per share. The company also reported $25.7 billion in operating cash flow and $19.1 billion in free cash flow, highlighting the scale of cash generation across its integrated energy operations.

The company said its refining system delivered record year-to-date operational performance on several measures, including diesel yield and North American diesel volumes. Its results also reflected upstream production milestones in Guyana and the Canadian oil sands, alongside investments in liquefied natural gas projects.

Exxon announced plans for $20 billion in share repurchases in 2027, assuming reasonable market conditions, and declared a quarterly dividend of $1.07 per share. The company said it had reduced net debt by nearly $11 billion year to date. Those capital-allocation decisions will be watched by investors as energy companies balance shareholder returns, project spending and balance-sheet strength.

The quarter should be read in context: refining margins and geopolitical supply disruptions can lift short-term earnings, while oil and gas prices remain volatile. The company's operating performance and investment program will matter beyond one quarter's commodity-price environment.
